What Should I Look Forward To?
Welcome! We are so glad that you're thinking about joining us in worship. Sometimes walking into a strange place and meeting strange people can be a little intimidating, so we thank you for taking the time to step out of your comfort zone and take the plunge. It may be helpful for you to know what you can expect to experience on a Sunday morning at NCC...
- Look forward to have an encounter with Christ! At NCC our worship is not primarily ritual or ceremony, but a time of unity. It is a time when family comes together to celebrate our belonging to God and in His presence be encouraged, moved, loved, healed, and equipped. This is time when we get to praise and express our love to the Lord.
- Look forward to meeting new people! Our communion is not only with God, but with His family. You won't be swarmed by other people, but do expect people to ask your name and sincerely welcome you.
- Look forward to the atmosphere of Sunday morning to be relaxed, personal, and truthful. You don't have to "put on your Sunday "best" or turn on a grin. You are welcome whatever your situation or spiritual state. NCC is made of people just like you.
- Look forward to hearing from God's Word. We are people of the Bible. We believe that in God's Word we find the foundation of life, that is being Christ, and encounter the kind of life that God wants us to live.
- Look forward to heartfelt singing. One of the unique things about us is that our worship music is a-cappella. That is, we sing without the accompaniment of musical instruments. We simply want everyone to worship God is the purest way possible, from the heart and focused on praise to our heavenly Father.
- Look forward to taking the Lord's Supper and remember the death, burial, and resurrection of our Lord - the central enactment of the central truths of our faith.
